Teaching

Patient. has been taught in many classrooms since it's publication in the fall of 2014. Faculty in departments of creative writing, literature, history, and women's studies have taken up patient. as a text that illustrates how the lyric can be deployed to discuss complicated and multilayered histories, how resistance can be read through Black women's narratives, others have used the text to illustrate how Black women's creative work is feminist thought. Here, you can find resources on teaching patient. in your classroom, to your homeschooled child, or as a launchpad for further exploration on the subject of reproductive justice and Black women's history.
